This post will round off the last details of the digipak cover and artwork, and focus mainly on how we added a further element of realism to our digipak by creating a plastic inlay tray for the CD to rest in, as well as a mock-up of the CD itself.
First, we started by choosing an Artistic filter, and we used the Plastic Wrap as this most closely resembles the clear plastic used in CD cases to hold the CD itself.
Then by using the Marquee tool, we were able to create the circular area in the middle of the Plastic Wrap in order to create our CD. This also prevented any modifications we made to the CD also spilling over onto the Plastic Wrap.
Finally, having created the CD, below is the screen showing the CD overlaid onto the plastic wrap, to fully create the illusion of the CD sitting in the plastic inlay tray.
