As soon as the Rough Cut had finished saving down, we gathered a selection of fellow media students from our class round and aired the video to them. Afterwards, we interviewed each of them individually, and asked them to give honest, critical feedback on the rough cut. We kept the structure of the interview simple, limiting it to just two questions ('What did you like about the video?' and either 'What didn't you like about the video?' or 'What would you improve or change about the video given the chance?') to give the viewers ample freedom to discuss their opinions on the video and be open and honest with their views. Below is an edited audio clip, giving a range of responses from a number of different people.
Audience feedbeck by Adam Johnson
The full list of interviewees reads as follows, in order of appearance:
Matt Ballard
James Rowland
Josh Reeves
Alex Wood
Tom Bowman
Jacob Peeling
Sam Vennard
Nathan Moseby
Nick Avramoussis
All of them, with the exception of Nick, are fellow A2 media students, and are therefore also creating their own music videos (aside from Josh Reeves and Tom Bowman, who are working on a film trailer). They are all very knowledgable and their input is appreciated, largely because they are not only highly knowledgable in the subject, but they are also working on projects of their own and therefore will perhaps have different ways of looking at or approaching the task. We felt it was appropriate to try and get a wide range of outlooks on it as possible, but I also felt it was key that we tried to also gather the opinions of non-media students, of regular people seeing the video for the first time as they perhaps would see real videos on music TV channels, and would look at it from the same perspective. That is why Nick's contribution is invaluable.
