Storyboarding

Below are the storyboards for the performance and the narrative shots. We came up with the performance shots first, whilst the narrative section was still in gestation period, so that's why they are two seperate storyboards, rather than one combined article. They are also not in order - we would use the Animatic to assemble them into order and see how they all fitted together, so this wasn't a concern for now.
First then, th
e Performance storyboard. One thing that should be mentioned is that, after they were drawn up, we swiftly decided that the singer shouldn't have a guitar, as seen in the storyboard sketches. This would give the singer more freedom to move, and as he would be a key focal point, his ability to move and command a presence would be vital. We decided that this would be hindered too much with a guitar slung round his neck, so we removed it and plan on allowing him much greater movement for the video itself.
In total there are 36 shots, with additional instructions Mike placed on there to help remind him and prompt him when we get to the filming stage. As already stated, they are not a chronological list - they are a selection of shots we can use and assemble come editing. Here are the narrative storyboards. This is more chronological, but not completly accurate in terms of order. It is comprehensive and, like the performance shoot, contains plenty of directing instructions for when we come to film the shots.
