The final cut is all complete, and we have some final feedback from non-media students. Ben Smith and David Clark are both AFI fans, and neither are media students, so as I said in a previous feedback post, it is nice to get the opinions of regular music video viewers who are not necessarily versed in media and media terminology and methods.
I linked both to the video via the Windows Live Messanger service, and their responses are as follows. Dave commented that it is a 'great vid, great camera work' with 'nice changes' (cuts between shots), and the only bad point being the 'slightly off lip synch' at one point in the video. Ben said that it was 'very good' with his only criticism being that, in the intro section, the 'drums seem different, out of place somehow'. But otherwise he said that it was 'top notch', praised the camera work and said it looked of 'very professional quality'.

Rough Cut Audience Feedback 2 - Questionnaire
Alongside our audio interviews, Josh sent out the rough cut link to several people, and attached a questionnaire for the viewers to fill out, giving their honest opinions on the video. This gives us a greater breadth of opinion to digest and mull over before going back to edit further.
Questionnaire 1: Shola 'Sho Gant' Williams
Shola is an underground hip hop artist who has the useful asset of having had several cameos in mainstream hip hop music videos, therefore, he has valuable insider knowledge which he can use to judge our video. On the left is his feedback form.
Questionnaire 2: Jordan Saville
Jordan is a fellow media student in our class, but unlike those involved in the audio interviews, he was busy working on his own coursework when we did the preview screening, so Josh sent him a link to the video, and presented here are his thoughts on the video.

As soon as the Rough Cut had finished saving down, we gathered a selection of fellow media students from our class round and aired the video to them. Afterwards, we interviewed each of them individually, and asked them to give honest, critical feedback on the rough cut. We kept the structure of the interview simple, limiting it to just two questions ('What did you like about the video?' and either 'What didn't you like about the video?' or 'What would you improve or change about the video given the chance?') to give the viewers ample freedom to discuss their opinions on the video and be open and honest with their views. Below is an edited audio clip, giving a range of responses from a number of different people.
Audience feedbeck by Adam Johnson
The full list of interviewees reads as follows, in order of appearance:
Matt Ballard
James Rowland
Josh Reeves
Alex Wood
Tom Bowman
Jacob Peeling
Sam Vennard
Nathan Moseby
Nick Avramoussis
All of them, with the exception of Nick, are fellow A2 media students, and are therefore also creating their own music videos (aside from Josh Reeves and Tom Bowman, who are working on a film trailer). They are all very knowledgable and their input is appreciated, largely because they are not only highly knowledgable in the subject, but they are also working on projects of their own and therefore will perhaps have different ways of looking at or approaching the task. We felt it was appropriate to try and get a wide range of outlooks on it as possible, but I also felt it was key that we tried to also gather the opinions of non-media students, of regular people seeing the video for the first time as they perhaps would see real videos on music TV channels, and would look at it from the same perspective. That is why Nick's contribution is invaluable.
